FORECAST DYNAMICS OF THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS UNDER 15 YEARS OLD LIVING IN RURAL AREA OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Abstract
An assessment of the prospective number of rural children and adolescents under the age of 15 was carried out on the basis of predictive modeling. Variants have been calculated that take into account both the current trends in demographic parameters and the expected results of the demographic response of the rural population to new government initiatives to support families with children and stimulate the birth rate. It is considered an option that takes into account the possible demographic consequences of the COVID 19 pandemic. The nonlinear nature of the dynamics of the number of the main age groups of rural children in the medium term (from birth to 4 years, from 5 to 9 years and from 10 to 15 years) has been established. A moderate scenario of demographic development is assumed to be the most probable, taking into account the current dynamics of age-specific fertility and mortality rates, as well as the size of the migration outflow from the countryside. A comparison is made of the estimated number of children of preschool and school ages with the dynamics of the provision of the rural population with preschool institutions, as well as general educational institutions for programs of primary, basic and secondary general education.
